Here at Blowfish Malibu, we are recently OBSESSED with tie dye! It’s such a fun and happy print that can go with just about any outfit. Boyfriend jeans and a cropped tank? Check. How to keep the kiddos entertained at home!

As more and more cities extend school closures, parents working from home might be thinking, “how in the world am I going to keep the kids busy all day?!” Working from home with kids is no easy feat. So, to the parents who are holding it down while working from home, teaching their kids, and getting meals on the table, bravo! We salute you.

One person, in particular, stands out in my head; I have been blown away by how my cousin spends her time with her daughters, three-year-old and one week old (!), Aria and Willow. They are always finding new and engaging ways to spend their time during these “stay at home” orders.  So, if you need some inspiration to keep the family entertained, check out these activities:

Learning!

Since the schools are closed, kids will need someone to act as their teachers. Whether you are homeschooling or finding fun activities to keep their minds growing, this is the time to get crafty with your approach. Be creative by using materials that you might already have at home, like popsicle sticks or construction paper. The activities will be so fun, the kids won’t even realize how much they are learning!

Arts and Crafts!

It’s time to let their creativity shine! Arts and crafts are a great way to keep the kiddos busy throughout the day. With some basic materials like crayons, glue sticks, chalk, and construction paper, you could keep them entertained for hours! Perhaps you could even spread the love by making cards and art for your neighbors, local nursing home, or hospital.

Playing!

Time to grab your sheets and create a fort because it’s playtime! Sometimes (ok, always) kids just want to play and have some fun. Letting your kids enjoy dress-up time or run around outside is great for their spirit and keeps them busy while you are wrapping up your quarterly reports.
