Our Three Favorite Beaches in Malibu

Look no further, here are our three favorite beaches in Malibu.

We all go to the beach for different reasons. Perhaps we’re trying to catch a break from our daily routines, or we’re planning a romantic date. Maybe we’re trying to gain some inspiration from the beauty of the ocean, or simply want to relax. Whatever your reason, the Malibu coastline is a perfect place to visit. Known for its historical landmarks, and its “27 miles of scenic beauty,” Malibu is a great place to go if you want a nearby getaway. It’s known for its free-spirited, barefoot approach to life. So, read on, because here are a few of our favorite beaches, along with nearby suggestions for food and fun.

Leo Carrillo State Beach

Leo Carrillo State Beach is a great spot if you are trying to escape the city routine of  conference calls, an overflowing in-box,  and the grip of endless deadlines. Located 28 miles north of Santa Monica on Pacific Coast Highway, Leo Carrillo State Beach is known for the beautiful caves and an endless array of sea creatures like octopuses, seals, sea otters, and hermits.

This busy beach was named after actor and preservationist, Leo Carrillo, who furnished on the California Beach and Parks Commission for 18 years. First of all, it’s a beautiful place to catch your breath and explore something new and different. In addition, it’s also a great spot if you are trying to gain some inspiration for your next big project. There is lots of beautiful scenery, picnic areas, and even a campsite for you to settle down in and soak in the moment.

Escondido Beach

If you are a person of family and are looking to take your loved ones on a day or weekend vacation, a great spot to take them is Escondido Beach. Living in the city can be very overwhelming when you have a family, not to mention pretty pricey. Long hours at work doesn’t allow you to spend as much intimate time with your family as you would like. Escondido Beach is a great location to simply escape from the craziness (and high prices) of the city. Because this particular beach is not very crowded, it has a perfect, mellow, sunbathing vibe.

El Matador Beach

Looking to photograph beautiful content for your next portfolio piece? Or perhaps you are searching for that perfect date spot? Look no further. Located 10 miles northwest of Malibu, this secluded pocket beach has rocky shores, boisterous waves and the clearest water in L.A. Consequently, you will fall head over heels once you have spent the day here with your partner. Hidden coves are abundant, in which you can sit down with your significant other and have a glass of wine as you watch the beautiful sunset and waves roll through the ocean.

Where to Eat

A great spot to stop by to treat yourself and your family is Goeffrey’s Malibu cuisine. It’s a great place to enjoy yourself and time with the family having a yummy meal in a relaxing environment.
